Death By Dessert
Mostly Theatre Company Audition Handout
Thank you for auditioning for Mostly Theatre Company’s production of Death by Dessert. This production promises to be lots of fun and we are very glad you have come to audition.
If you are not cast in this show, we invite you to come back to other MTC auditions. Students may also be interested in our Summer Arts Camp. Casting a show is an extremely difficult process as the Production Team searches for actors who will fit specific roles. If you are not cast, it is NOT a reflection on you, it simply means that for this particular show there was not a specific role for you to fill. And PLEASE come back and audition for another production! Additionally, for this show, we need servers and backstage crew.
Please consider helping us in one of these ways.
When completing the Audition Sheet, you must be honest. If you have conflicts with the schedule, please list them on the back of the Audition Sheet. If you are chosen for our production, we may be able to adjust around possible conflicts given that foresight. Conflicts that occur after the production is underway may lead to the part being recast (see below).
As a non-profit, volunteer-only organization, Mostly Theatre Company requires cast members to help with set construction and set strike.
Set Construction and Strike
Set Construction occurs in the morning hours over 2 weekends prior to performance. Cast members over the age of 14 are asked to take part in the creative process of set design and construction under the guidance of the Set Construction Foreman. Parents of young cast members are encouraged to join us. After the final performance, all Cast members (regardless of age) are required to help in the breaking down of the set and cleaning of the theatre.
Costume Requirements
To be determined per character.
Rehearsal and Performance Requirements
Please understand that all performers are required to attend all rehearsals to which they are assigned. Absences will not be tolerated. If an emergency arises, notification of the situation must be given to the Director as soon as possible. If a performer is absent without notification, the part will be reassigned the following day. Unexcused absences will reflect poorly on you and may be taken into consideration during future auditions with the Company.
Performers are expected to be present at all assigned rehearsals prior to the time of call (i.e., please be at the theatre by 5:45 for a 6:00 call so we can begin on schedule)
Attendance will be taken. Cast Members must be picked up on time at the end of rehearsal.
Now that you have read all this, please indicate such by signing at the bottom of your Audition Sheet.
If you are under 18 years of age, please have your parents sign, too.
Thank you again for auditioning! We are SO HAPPY to see you here! If you have any questions, please call Karen at 760-455-7423
